Film synopsis-

Slow-witted Forrest Gump, a young boy from Alabama who is innocent and kind-hearted, has spent practically his whole life dealing with the cruelties of others but has never seen himself as being at a disadvantage, and he lives everything but a constrained existence thanks to his loving mother. Forrest inspires others with his innocent optimism, whether he is leading a shrimp boat, fighting in Vietnam, or dominating the field as a college football standout. However, Forrest has only ever known Jenny, a beautiful woman, as a friend, and his childhood sweetheart, therefore he longs to learn about the ways of the world and sets off on a quest to discover his true calling. The troubled Jenny, maybe the one person he cares about most will be the most difficult to cure.

Main cast-

  • Forrest Gump, played by Tom Hanks: Forrest is estimated to have a 75 IQ at a young age, which is below normal. His appealing personality and dedication to his responsibilities and loved ones put him in a lot of life-altering circumstances. He meets a lot of historical personalities and occasions throughout his life.

  • Jenny Curran, played by Robin Wright: Forrest's childhood friend Jenny Curran is with whom he falls in love right away and stays in love his entire life. Jenny departs from Forrest and takes a different route, living a self-destructive life and joining the hippy movement in California in the 1960s after experiencing child sexual abuse at the hands of her vengeful widowed father. She returns to Forrest's life several times as an adult. Eventually, they get married, but not long after, she passes away from complications from an unidentified ailment.

  • Sally Field plays Forrest's mother, Mrs. Gump. Field considered the persona, "She is a mother who adores her son without conditions. She intentionally uses a lot of slogan-like phrases in her conversation."

The few things you can learn from Forrest Gump-

1. Instead of falling in love, learn to love.

Forrest Gump isn't afraid to show others that he cares. He is not hesitant to love completely, deeply. He is not afraid of being injured, nor does he consider harming those who harm him. He simply loves in the purest sense possible.

He shows us how to love without anticipating anything in return. Giving is the essence of love!

2. Always follow your instincts

Lieutenant Dan (Forrest’s pal) told Forrest to flee and save his life because he knew he would perish in battle, but Forrest wasn't going to give him the chance. When such a situation develops, you could feel like your heart is pulling you in one direction while others are telling you to turn around. Always follow your gut feeling in situations like these where you need to decide between two options. It could benefit your life.

3. Think before you write since words can leave a mark on your heart.

When Jenny declines Forrest's marriage proposal because she thinks he's stupid, it's one of the most heartbreaking scenes in the movie. Forrest was deeply hurt by this, yet he showed incredible generosity and intelligence by declaring, "I am not a smart man, but I know what love is."

Think before you speak at all times. The deepest wounds can be inflicted by words, and such scars are difficult to repair.

4. Keep your optimism

Forrest Gump has an unwaveringly upbeat attitude throughout the entire film. Even if the people around him, especially Lieutenant Dan, dislike it, Forrest always sees the positive side of life even when things are difficult. When someone else is so upbeat, it's hard to be down; it's a contagious emotion that will probably encourage pals to be upbeat as well.

Forrest Gump felt he would always be able to solve the problem, therefore he wasn't concerned about the bad things that were happening. Although Forrest's level of pleasure is a little exaggerated, the sentiment remains a worthwhile standard to strive for.

5. Pain Can Be Used To Create Something Positive.

Even the worst kind of suffering may be turned into something positive, according to Forrest Gump. Forrest is obviously devastated by Jenny's decision to leave him because she is his true love. But instead of wallowing in self-pity, he begins to run.

6. You Can't Get Happiness From Money

Gump is able to amass significant money throughout the course of his life through a combination of perseverance and good fortune. However, he is not the kind of person who seeks the almighty dollar and doesn't act normally when they finally become wealthy.

Gump loses his mother and the love of his life despite making a lot of money. Furthermore, he doesn't act as though his troubles are all taken care of simply because he is wealthy even before a catastrophe occurs. This confirms the idea that having money won't make you happy.

7. Life is undoubtedly like a box of chocolates.

Let this be the message that viewers of Forrest Gump take away from the film. You never know what you're going to get in life, as when you open a box of chocolates.

It's simple to see how Gump's position relates to this lesson that his mother taught him. An unassuming young man from Alabama went on to meet some of the most significant people in 20th-century history and have a number of unusual situations that he could never have anticipated.

These are some of the things we may learn from this wonderful film. It may have gone a little too far in terms of intensity, but it really captures Forrest Gump's feelings. The only people who will truly count in the end are those who are closest to you since money cannot make you happy for the rest of your life.
