INTRODUCTION

         Everyone knows what does the word bridge mean but do you know there are different and unique bridges in the world? Bridges are of different shapes and sizes. Some are above mountains and valleys and are above water bodies such as rivers. Some join to other countries also. The main types of bridges are -

 Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Bridge

          The most strangest and terrifying bridge that will give nightmares is the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon glass bridge of China. This Bridge is China's longest and tallest glass bridge. The walkway sits 980feet above the canyon floor and is 1400 feet long. This glass bridge has Infrared sensors which detect the movement of tourists and the screen embedded in it makes it appear that the glass is breaking with a shattering sound but in actual it is to scare travelers. This kind of bridge is very common but only found in China. There are a total of 2300 glass bridges in China.

 Eshima Ohashi Bridge

        Have you ever seen or heard about a bridge that looks like a roller coaster? If not, visit Eshima Ohashi bridge in Japan. This bridge rises up to 44m above Nakaumi lake that connects Matsue, Shimane, and Tottori prefecture. Its total length is 1700m and is considered to be the third-largest bridge in the world. The shape of this bridge allows any kind of water transport, whether it is a ship or a boat, to pass through it without any traffic. 

 The living root bridge

       Have you ever experienced walking on a bridge made up of roots and stems of trees? If you had, how was it? Tell me in the comments. You will not agree with a fact that a tree which makes such kind of bridge is 100 yrs old and sometimes even 500 yrs old.  This bridge is made up of roots of Ficus elastica. Its roots are very strong and their strength increases when they grow. Its roots can be knotted. Talking about the bridge, it is 500m long and 1.5m broad. Another surprising fact is that it needs 5-10yrs to get knotted and make the bridge. This beautiful suspension bridge is above river Umshiang.

Lucky Knot Bridge

         A bridge that is known for its weirdest look above Meixi Lake. People can have a spectacular view of the river from there. It is in Changsha in China.  The 185 m long and 24 m high pedestrian truss bridge, which is bright red in color, was designed by NEXT architects based in Amsterdam and Beijing and completed in October 2016. It is made of steel in the design of Truss. Travelers from various countries visit Changsha for this bridge.

Dragon Bridge

          Have you ever seen a dragon-shaped bridge? It's obvious that we will find the bridge in China.  It's above river Hán at Ðá Ñáñg.  Construction of the bridge began on 19 July 2009 when the former Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Tan Dung and many high-ranking government officials attended the groundbreaking ceremony. Seeing this bridge, we feel that a dragon emerging from the water is breaking a bridge and Breathing out the fire.

  1.    We all know bridges helps to crossroad, rivers and even railway lines, but have you heard about a bridge over mountains? These bridges which help to cross the valley between two mountains are known as mountain bridges.

  2.     The longest bridge in the world is  Dayang-Kushan Grand Bridge.

  3.     Some bridges have two layers. These bridges are called double-decker bridges. Mostly one of its layers (bottom later) is road and other layers have railway line. Some of them have roads on top and walk paths below.

  4.     Oldest bridge in the world is a slab-stone single-arch bridge over the river Meles in Izmir (formerly Smyrna)

  5.     The largest natural bridge on Earth was virtually unknown to the rest of the world until it was observed on Google Earth.
