Artificial Intelligence

Our human world will be soon supplanted by the robotic world. Let's see how Artificial intelligence is growing.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

What is Artificial Intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is a branch of robotic science that deals with the manufacture of machines or computers that can think like humans. These machines are capable to collect large amounts of information and process them precisely. Still, they lack the power to learn matters and take brilliant decisions. But a handful of scientists are in work to create new software programs that can copy the human brain functioning and thus make them think like humans. In short, if a computer or a robot has the ability to think and make decisions without any external instructions, it possesses Artificial Intelligence or AI.

How does Artificial Intelligence perform?

It’s the same as a human brain works. Why human beings are considered to be intelligent? It’s because they have the strength to think about a problem, handle it bravely and finally take up a decision. An Artificial Intelligence machine should also be capable of taking decisions on its own.

Firstly, a robot computer with Artificial Intelligence amasses all the facts and information through human input or by sensors. Next, this collected information is compared with prior data stored in memory. Finally, it goes through all the applicable options and chooses the best among them. But, all these things can only occur accurately if only the data are stored earlier. Did you know that the world chess champion, Garry Kasparov was defeated by a chess-playing computer on 11 May 1997?  But, if you are asking that ‘Do you like to play chess?’ it can’t respond as the proper answer for it is not programmed because it’s not designed to decide complicated chess moves.

Cog

Cog is a robot built with Artificial intelligence that behaves like a newborn baby. This robot functions with many small computer programs and has multiple vision cameras and a hand-like structure. Cog is able to interact with objects, make eye contact and spot sounds, etc.

Kismet

Kismet is a robot designed with Artificial intelligence at MIT. It behaves like a child and is able to notice human body language, voice modulation and thus responds proportionately. Kismet is eminent due to its facial features and computer programming. This robot is only with ahead, even though it can make various facial expressions like surprise, anxiety, sadness, excitement, etc. It has a young and cute appearance and all the minute reactions help to interpret its mood easily. Kismet is perfect as a human head with eyelids, eyes, ears, newly designed lips, etc.  All these actions are not directly controlled by a central computer, but with lower-level computers that can control lower-level actions.
