Apple vs Samsung – Who’s the OG?

A strong rival exists between Android and iPhone which really does make it a tough call for us if we had to choose between these two players in the smartphone world. For that being said, one cannot go wrong with their choice because both of them are high-quality phones with different tastes. Let's shed light on both parties so that you can make the right decision.

Apple vs Samsung – Who’s the OG?

Today, Android and iPhones have dominated over 85% of the market. However, there is a kink in it. With the increasing peak of Samsung's advancement, in the android business, there is an increasing polarity between the Samsung users and other phone brands. Also, iOS, a genius, is giving very high competition to the android phones and Samsung is its toughest competition.

Apple vs Samsung: the greatest opponents on earth, isn’t it?

The battle among them means that both the phones will continue to innovate and keep the audience’s attention engaged. Well, that’s a bonus for us because we shall be supplied ‘The Best’. But…but…but it’s a big big ‘confusing dilemma’ choosing one among the two.
Again, an important point that must be noted is the cost factor. Great technology requires a great budget. The rapid advancement of these phones makes them have a very high-budget phone. Such rapid advancement has polarized a market for high-budget smartphones where iPhone and Samsung have taken the north pole whereas  ‘others’ have taken the south pole. It is just about where you should be.

Okayyyy Okayyy don’t feel disheartened. The phones are costly but they are worth it. So, let’s look into the features of these flagships, and then you can decide if my statement is justifying or not… :) And, you can also choose on your own depending on your preference.

Hmmm…so what’s the difference between the two phones? Yeah, one is an android phone and the other one is an iOS/apple and built by different companies at different places. ;D Cheer up fellas!
On a serious note, some differences do make them competitors as well as flagship brands. Let us look into those differences.

Apple vs Samsung

  • User experience:

Well, this is a highly debatable topic because both iOS and android do give us an elegant and comfortable experience. It can be assured that the users will not face trouble using any of them. However, if the set-up and general appearance of the home screen are taken into consideration, it is seen that Samsung users do find more comfort while using the phone compared to iPhone’s. Samsung’s One UI 3.0 is a hero in this case. It gives the user a lot of customizable options over their devices and the apps. Users can set up their phones just according to their comfort. Similarly, iOS also has a good UX but requires some improvement in terms of design and optimization.

Thus, choose Samsung for better customization.

  • Performance:

Again, both the phones’ performance is a boom. But if we had to compare between the two, then in this case the iPhone is a winner. There is no way to deny it. Apple’s brain allows high-performance functions such as watching videos, playing games, or using multiple apps and still not letting the phone slow down. People enjoy using iPhones as they run very fastly and smoothly without crashing.
However, right now, S21 devices by Samsung are giving equal competition to iPhone processors and are even faster in some raw benchmark areas such as memory bandwidth. But a point that must be made to the notice of all the users is the chip optimization of iPhones. Apple doesn’t go on the open market, which means that not any developer can improve the system unlike in Androids. Thus, there is a better safety measure in the case of the iPhone in comparison to the Androids. So, while Samsung phones have a slightly higher performance in some of the areas but Apple’s performance on a day-to-day basis often leaves Samsung behind. And this is because Android is more resource-intensive than iOS.

Thus, choose an iPhone for faster performance.

  • Display:

Samsung devices have one of the best displays in the market. The OLED is known for its rich color and is great for watching videos and displaying pictures. Even iPhones do provide an OLED display but that becomes very expensive in comparison to Samsung phones. Although Apple was the first one to build a big display, Samsung took the opportunity to build the punch-hole front camera display just at the top of the phone at a much cheaper price compared to iPhones. But…But.. it’s very sad accepting the fact that replacing a broken or a damaged display is catastrophic. :(  I mean to say it's very costly.

Thus, choose a Samsung phone for a better feel of the display.

  • Security and Privacy:

The next important topic of concern is Privacy. I mean privacy is our fundamental right. Is our data tracked??? Okay sorry, I am going off-topic :D
We already got to know that Samsung is an open system, so we have already got the idea as to who is more secure. Apple is much advanced in the line of pushing forward a privacy agenda. Yes, we have Knox security in Samsung, which is great and is a boss if compared to the rest of the Android phones but, Apple takes the lead here. This is because, Google, the core of every android, keeps on collecting data as much as it can. An iPhone is so secure that your Apple id isn’t even connected to Siri and it associates our requests with a random identifier. But trust me, Samsung phones are also very secure, so, this difference may not be a deal-breaker. Although an iPhone can’t be claimed to be entirely foolproof, if we can avoid risky practices, it's comparatively safer.

Thus, go for an Apple if your first and foremost priority is your Privacy.

  • Battery life:

Samsung is the winner here. Samsung phones have a huge battery capacity and thus need not be charged as often as an iPhone. iPhones are generally not known for having huge batteries. Again, they support fast charging feature which means that even if the battery sinks to a low percentage, it takes only a few minutes to get power back.

Thus, go for Samsung if you are concerned about the phone’s battery life.

  • Camera:

Well, this is a controversial topic because both of them are kings. On one side, Samsung cameras have lots of specs as low-light HDR, wide-angle mode, and a scene optimizer (which is my favorite). The scene optimizer adjusts the camera settings to get the ideal shot depending on the object. And on the other side, iPhone cameras have a high dynamic range that is superb. Images don’t suffer overexposure, and any noob can even click great pictures with an iPhone ;). But again, low-light images in an iPhone are not as good as those in Samsung.

Thus, no comments… ;) choose according to your need. Both are pros in their respective fields.

  • Storage:

Samsung presents itself with a higher internal storage range than an iPhone. Also, it has expandable memory slots, and storage can be added manually if the internal storage available isn’t enough. But, the storage of iPhones is also quite decent.

Thus, go for Samsung if Storage is your prime need.

  •  Price:

This factor is known to every one of us. In terms of price, the two are much more expensive than any average smartphone. For buying any good iPhone you need to spend a high range of money. Whereas Samsung phones are available from mid-range to high-range depending on what you want. But as it is, both phones require us to dig deep into our pockets.

Thus, go for Samsung if you do not want to spend a lot  ;)

Who’s the OG?

Don’t curse me if I say now that both the phones are OG’s.

Both iPhone and Samsung are great phones and you would never regret buying one against the other. They both have differences in different ways and are very close in terms of advantages generally. See, anything that has pros will have some cons, isn’t it? That’s the law of nature. An apple may be ideal for straightforward usage. And Samsung would be apt if you prefer to have your phone customized according to your way. It would be better for power users who like variety in their devices. Overall, choosing a phone entirely depends on your personal preference and your lifestyle. And all this said, in the end, your pocket balance plays the part!!
