Beautiful mountains and hills to explore
The Mount Everest
Mount Everest is the highest mountain on the Earth with a length of 8850 metres situated in the Mahalangpur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas. 60 million years ago, the Indian subcontinent landmass moved towards the north and collided with the land area in the north. Thus, these landmasses clamped down, pleated and then ascended up to form the dominant mountain range in the whole world named 'Himalayas'. Mount Everest is one of the highest mountains in the Himalayas and as the remaining mountains, Everest hailed up from an ancient sea as the fossils of fishes were found on the slopes of the mountain. Mount Everest is considered to be sacred by the native people and called the ' 'Homes of Gods'. In Nepal, Mount Everest is known as 'Sagarmatha', and in Tibet, it is named 'Chomolungma', which means 'Goddess Mother of the World'.
The Chocolate Hills
The Chocolate Hills proudly sits on the Philippine island of Bohol that comprises 1268 hills of identical shape. These hills are almost 30 and 50 metres in height. Usually, the hills are veiled with a green covering but after prolonged dry weather, the hills turn to chocolate brown colour, from which it got the respective name. By the beginning of the rainy season, lustrous green starts to cover the hilltops. The historical story behind the formation of these hills is curious that one legend says that the hill was formed due to a fight between two giants who threw stones and sands at each other for long days and eventually heaped up into hills. Another legend asserts that the tears of a young boy named Arogo formed the hill, who was so grieved over the death of his lover.
The Table Mountain
Generally, mountains have peak apex but a mountain in Cape Town, South Africa stands with a flat crowning point widely spanning three kilometres. This mystifying mounting settles as a watchtower where all the places in Cape Town can be seen and bestow heart-stirring sceneries. Table Mountain made up of sandstone with 1826 metres height is the richest floral destination with over 1470 floral species. Diverse varieties of species can be seen here like the Table Mountain Ghost Frog, which can be found nowhere in the world. Also, the rabbit variant is named Rock Dassies, baboons, porcupines etc. During the summer season, white coloured clouds covered the table shaped mountain pinnacle that creates a beautiful view of a table covered with a white coloured tablecloth.
