ROBOTS IN DAILY LIFE

In Australia, robots are highly beneficial to sheep farmers as their main way of livelihood is sheep rearing. Cutting off the wool of sheep is a difficult and painstaking job. In such a case, robots stand as a relief. The electric clipper in its arm can easily shear the wool. The sensors will determine the thickness of the skin and will not harm them with injuries. Also, the robot can move along with the sheep and comport with it.

In nuclear labs, fetching manpower is so hazardous due to the handling of explosive and dangerous radioactive materials. In such situations, robots are used for the cleaning up process after a nuclear accident or in the process of disposal of nuclear waste.

In the same way, the mine flooding, collapsing, and releasing of toxic gases can make severe danger to people. Hence, it’s so likely to use robots than to expose workers to mining sites.

Domestic robots are the robots available for household chores. These robots can do works like mopping, washing dishes, laundry, etc. Even though they aren’t available yet, in the future it will be customary equipment.

Scientists are in the process of making indoor domestic robots that can even slice vegetables, carry trays and wash dishes. In homes with pets, these robots can even clean up their litter. By this, homemakers can make it easy and devote their time and energy for some other purposes.

Outdoor robots are mainly security robots with modified night vision wide-angle cameras to detect the presence of trespassers. They can be used for patrolling purposes too. They will take pictures of everything that looks suspicious and will immediately send them through mail or any other means. Some other robots can clean the pool, wash windows, mow the lawns and clean gutters, etc.

 Robot toys are popular among children as they can help in educational and entertainment aspects. Furby is a toy that looks like a hamster or owl. In the beginning, they can only speak `Furbish’, the language of the furbies. Then over time, they learned English. Then the robotic pet called `ALBO’ was introduced in the market by the company, Sony. Robotic dogs with robotic seals also became tremendously popular. These robots can play games like Romo that can drive and do their tasks by own.

Robots are also used in the agri-sector to reduce the painstaking endeavors of farmers. These kinds of robots can drive tractors, sort potatoes, spread fertilizers, prune, harvest, pick fruits also milking cows. In a nutshell, these robots can do all the works that are always being a burden for farmers. Also, it can cut down the production cost and thereby increase productivity.

Social robots are those robots that are specially designed for social interactions. They can encourage and teach social behavior and mannerisms to children with autism and help out stroke patients in their physical exercises and thus help to regain their health back.

Telepresence robots are robots with wheels and displays that can be controlled by remote. They can help in communication through video chat and voice chat. Nowadays, they are used for looking after elderly people and children.
