TASTY DANISH PASTRIES
1. Jam Danish
Ingredients
- Flour- 250 gms
- Sugar- 50 gms
- Salt- 5 gms
- Yeast- 6 gms
- Melted butter- 20 ml
- Margarine- 135 gms
- Egg- 1
- Milk powder- 5 gms
- Water- 120 ml to 130 ml
- Mixed fruit jam- 30 gms
Method
Mix yeast and sugar in warm water and keep it aside for fermentation. Sieve flour, milk powder and make a well in the center. Now, add the fermented mixture into this flour and add salt. Knead it by adding water little by little for 15-20 minutes. Make a fine and shiny dough by adding whipped margarine of 10 gms and rest it for 15 minutes. Cream the remaining margarine and keep it aside. Sheet the dough and apply half of the margarine over 2/3 rd of the dough and dust the flour on the top. Now fold it like cloth and set it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, do the same again with the remaining margarine and set it again in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Now, take it out, give a plain folding in the same manner and set it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, sheet it for half-inch thickness and cut it into the required shape. Finally, fill it with the required stuffing, and let’s have the Jam Danish.
2. Apple Danish
Ingredients
- Flour- 250 gms
- Sugar- 50 gms
- Salt- 5 gms
- Yeast- 6 gms
- Melted butter- 20 ml
- Margarine- 125 gms
- Egg- 1
- Water- 120 ml to 130 ml
For fillings
- Apple- 1
- Sugar- 50 gms
- Cinnamon powder- as required
- Raisins- 15 gms
- Candied fruits and Cashew nuts- 15 gms
Method
