Chocolate Chiffon Pie

Ingredients

 For tart base 

  • Flour- 115 gms
  • Sugar- 5 gms
  • Margarine- 60 gms
  • Baking powder- 2 gms
  • Cold-water- to mix
  • Vanilla essence- as required

 

For filling

  • Milk- 150 ml
  • Grain sugar- 75 gms
  • Dark chocolate – 50 gms
  • Egg – 2 nos
  • Chocolate flavor- few drops

 

Method

 First of all, sieve flour with baking powder and keep it aside. Rub the margarine gently with your fingertips until it looks like bread crumbs. Crush the sugar with a rolling pin and add this sugar into the fat along with the vanilla extract. Add the flour to the fat mixture and mix all together to make a soft dough by adding water little by little. Roll this down on a floured slap or base and cut in the required shape. Now grease the tart mold and roll out the dough over it.

 

Method for filling 

Boil the milk with sugar and add the beaten egg to this milk. Now add the melted chocolate and chocolate flavor. Pour this mixture over the half-baked pie. Bake this pie at 160 degrees celsius for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove it from the oven and leave to cool down. Finally, garnish it with whipped cream and chocolate flakes, and red cherry. Your fabulous chocolate chiffon pie is ready to eat now.

 

Date and Walnut Pie

Ingredients

  • Seedless Dates – 50 gms
  • Cake crumbs- 200 gms
  • Grain sugar- 120 gms
  • Cinnamon- 5 gms
  • Walnut- 50 gms

 

Method

Crush the sugar with a rolling pin and add this sugar into the fat along with the vanilla extract. Now grease the tart mold and roll out the dough over it.

 

Method for filling 

Chop dates and walnuts and mix grain sugar, cinnamon powder, and bread crumbs. Spread this mixture in the pie mold that is already striped with shortcrust pastry. Cover it with shortcrust pastry and garnish as you wanted and brush the top with egg or milk. Give docking to it thus allowing the steam to evade. Bake it at 160 degrees celsius for about 15 minutes. Serve hot your healthy Date and Walnut pie.
